Recent Modifications: 2011 Ghost Conference This Seattle Area Ghost Conference, which occurred Halloween weekend, was an even greater success than the 1st one held last year and a 3rd Annual Ghost Conference is already being considered. I would like to hear from anyone who joined me and my colleagues on one of the 3 Saturday night investigations in which we participated : 1st: Community Center (Theater, Post Office, Morgue) 2nd: Community Center (Theater, Post Office, Morgue) 3rd: Walker-Ames House I am starting to post some of the results of my EVP Sessions during those investigations (see 2011 Ghost Conference). Six (6) new clips were posted from the Theater. I've already heard from some of you and hope to maintain contact.
The Team For those of you who have followed this site, you probably know that Silent Voices has been just me since inception, though I have regularly teamed up with a number of other paranormal research groups, to our mutual benefit. Through most of 2010, I worked mostly with the good people of P.I.H.A. Earlier this year, in order to focus more on my Primary Research Location, I stopped working with that group, though Robin, who I met at the 1st Annual Ghost Conference, and who then briefly worked with P.I.H.A., decided to join me here. Since then, Cheri, and most recently Britt, have also agreed to join me and Silent Voices, in my efforts. All three have much greater 'sensitive' abilities than I do, or at least than I am aware of, and I am very appreciative of their support. No doubt with their input, I will learn much more than I ever could have alone. Welcome aboard, Robin, Cheri & Britt! Updates My ability to regularly update this site is far less than I'd initially hoped. Please don't interpret that as overall inactivity. The research and analyses continue as usual. I also monitor the website regularly and at this point, given the limited attention it gets, I have chosen to dedicate less time to updating it. But anyone who has written to me should be able to attest to the fact that I am still 'here' and I will answer every email I receive. So please don't hesitate. I would like to hear from you! As always - Stay tuned!

Silent Voices differs from most, if not all current ‘spirit’ research, in that it focuses on repeatedly returning to a select few locations, with the goal of establishing trusted relationships with whoever is creating the EVPs. This is done principally by entering a location, clearly explaining the process, asking questions, restating what was heard on previous visits, and building on that information exchange. New or one-time site visits are conducted, but these are secondary, with the aim of avoiding complacency, and remaining open to new possibilities and scenarios.
Overall Perspective
Some results from every trip to my Primary Research Location in 2008 are posted in the Site Visits subsections. Hopefully there is enough evidence there to convince skeptics that either:
1. Voices we don't initially hear, do interact with us; or
2. I am faking the clips that I post.
I encourage those in both camps to contact me with your thoughts.
I do not claim to believe that these are voices of the dead, but hope to learn more about their origins as I proceed. I have been developing a number of Theories as I have conducted this work and I intend to provide my rational for each, in the form of EVPs I intend to post here.
Purpose
I have a couple of main goals for this site:
For Skeptics: I hope to be able to provide enough information to convince you, when I say that in my primary research location, and in at least some other reputedly haunted locations, when questions are asked and no one responds, answers can be heard. You will be able to hear them yourself by downloading any of a number of sound clips extracted from my work.
Are these the voices of the dead? That's the standard assumption in the paranormal community. Personally? I have no idea. Though it's a good place to start, to date I have no proof of this and do not automatically discount other possibilities. In recognition of this, I will generally refrain from using the term 'ghost', in favor of the term 'spirit', to refer to the source of these voices.
Some, having heard EVPs, dismiss them as random words or phrases somehow picked out of the myriade of radio and/or television frequencies that constantly bombard us. The specificity of the recordings however, should hopefully convince you that not all can be explained this way. Other possibilities? I welcome your ideas.
For those working with, or intending to work with EVPs: Let's hope we both benefit. I want to relate how I do what I do, provide my results, and get your feedback. Do my methods increase your success? Are you getting better results and willing to share why you think that is? Or is it all in my head?
After well more than two years working in my primary research location, I am starting to develop a few theories. This is where the science comes in. Of course, I will present my results, both favorable and those which do not support my hypotheses. If I do have any significant successes, it's at this point that I will call on you to attempt to repeat what I claim to have accomplished. After all, peer review is critical.
If the spirits in my primary research location are not transient, and I believe at least some of them aren't, the past 2+ years of making myself known there, may impact their willingness to cooperate. At present, some still seem to be curious and eager to communicate. We'll see how willing they are, if I ask for help with some experimentation.
Finally: For most, the meat of this web site, has been Site Visits, where downloadable EVPs for you to review, are posted. From here, I intend to start painting a picture of where these EVPs originate. Stay tuned!
